PAR Record provides an economical, less automated solution to capturing supply transactions at the point-of-use.

PAR Record was designed for PAR Locations with:

-Low Supply Usage
-Decentralized Supply Areas
-Budget Constraints

In order to reduce cost, patient names are not electronically displayed on the PAR Record board. Instead, the caregiver records the patient name and room number on the board with an erasable pen. The caregiver then touches the iButton associated with this patient, followed by the iTag for each item dispensed. When complete, the Touch Probe is returned to the Downloader.

At scheduled times, the Material Management staff exchanges the removable panel from the front of the PAR Record board with a blank panel. The transactions captured on the removable panel are quickly and easily assigned in the Material Management Department. The panel is then wiped clean to be available for the next exchange period.

PAR Record is available with or without the automated downloading feature. If this feature is purchased, the supply information gathered is automatically downloaded as soon as the Touch Probe is returned to the Downloader.

If the automated downloading feature is not purchased, the Material Management staff will exchange the Touch Probes at the same time that the removable board is exchanged. The Touch Probes are then downloaded in the Material Management department or any PAR Location that has the automated downloading feature.

Like all information collected by the PAR Excellence System, once downloaded, the information automatically flows to the Material Management Department for supply replenishment, inventory management and critical alert notification.

In coordination with the assignment process, the patient’s account can be updated to record appropriate charges and credits. Cost accounting information by doctor, patient, procedure, DRG, etc. is also available.
