PAR Touch utilizes touch screen computers and either barcodes or iButtons to automatically capture supply transactions at the point-of-use. PAR Touch provides the ability to access an unlimited number of patients from any area of the hospital.

PAR Touch was designed specifically for hospitals that desire:

-Immediate feedback to the caregiver
   of items dispensed or credited
-Caregiver access to report capabilities
-Commercially available hardware

The caregiver enters an optional personal identification code, then touches the appropriate patient. The Probe is immediately readied for use. The caregiver removes the Probe and either scans the barcode or touches the iTag for each item dispensed. When finished, the Probe is returned to the Downloader. The user has the ability to immediately view or modify the dispensing activity.

This information, like all information collected by the PAR Excellence System, automatically flows to the Material Management Department for supply replenishment, inventory management and critical alert notification.

At the PAR Location the caregiver and/or materials management staff can access numerous reports or identify various locations within the hospital where an item is maintained.
